This course is designed for upper middle school or high school English students with a focus on American literature. The text is intended to be used either in conjunction with another American literature text, or as a stand alone. Students will gain an understanding not only of the concepts inherent in American literature — starting with the Puritans and Native Americans, and ending with Modern literature — but of the elements of literature as well.
