Description
George Cassutto is an award-winning author who developed curriculum for the PBS series “The Democracy Project,” consulted on the PBS “Thomas Jefferson” documentary, and developed curriculum for the Discovery Channel and US News & World Report. Civics has been designed to cover concepts using group activities, simulations and Internet activities that will bring the content to life for middle school students. Teachers are supported by an easy-to-use pacing guide for this full-year course, with lesson plans designed for 90-minute block schedules. Comprehensive daily lesson plans provide the out-of-field teacher with step-by-step support, including descriptions of teacher-tested classroom activities that engage, apply and extend learning. Daily class notes are correlated to lesson plans and are available in PowerPoint or as overhead masters. The student workbook includes all activity sheets and handouts. This instructional system will work with any Civics textbook.
