This chapter is the longest chapter of the course and is the only one that has three sections to be covered.  Students will begin their study of genetics with an introduction to DNA, protein synthesis and mutations.  They will start with a study of the structure and process of DNA replication of deoxyribonucleic acids.  The second part of the chapter has to do with protein synthesis which is the production of proteins using the DNA stored in the nucleus.  The last part of the discussion will include a study on mutations which are errors in the replication of DNA or dividing up the DNA.
