Byres

David Byres, co-author of AP Biology, is a professor of Biology at Florida State College Jacksonville. He graduated  from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland with a B.Sc. in Biology and a Ph. D. in Botany. Before his current teaching position at FSCJ he worked as a Senior Biologist at the University of Florida, studying the effects of acid rain and air pollution on the growth of slash pines (Pinus elliottii). He was previously the leader of a Biological Expedition to Kenya, which collected diatoms and microlepidoptera.
