Description
A richly illustrated course designed to take the second year biology student to new levels of understanding about the animal kingdom. Key concepts are reinforced with an abundance of engaging lab activities. Students will collect and identify insects, watch birds and keep a birding journal, study animal behavior, culture fruit flies and do a variety of anatomy and physiology lab activities. They will also apply statistical analysis to data they collect. Class notes and laboratory experiments are designed to allow students to investigate animals at both the organismal and cellular levels. Class notes, laboratory and field activities address many national, state and local standards. Finally, course materials feature daily lesson plans, labs, demonstrations, a pacing guide, tests with answer keys, a student workbook and alignments with a host of adopted science standards.
