$30.00
The students are exposed to research relevant to different states of consciousness, ranging from their own experiences to much different experiences than most other people. Most chapters begin with a definitional overview of the level of consciousness so one can understand the difference between personal and atypical variations of the given state of consciousness. Many topics can be included but usually in this chapter there is material about REM and NONREM sleep. Students learn about the different stages of sleep, the functions, dysfunctions, and theories of sleep. The other topics in this Chapter may include hypnosis, meditation, daydreaming and drugs such as depressants, stimulants and hallucinogens as well.
