Chapter 12 – Abnormal Behavior (Total Days: 8, pages: 162):$30

$30.00

Abnormal Psychology is one of the most interesting of all the Chapters in Psychology.  Typically, the Chapter begins with the criteria for labeling behavior as abnormal. These criteria would include a statistical definition, sociological norms, or adaptive behavior definition.  A discussion of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual published by the American Psychiatric Association is also necessary to explain the different categories of disorders.  The current manual is the DSM IV-TR. It is important to use an up-to-date version because of the changes.  The student should be aware of the many disorders such as the mood, personality, Dissociative, somatoform, anxiety, organic, and psychotic disorders. Students should know the etiology (cause) and diagnostic criteria.
