Rock of the Republic

Rock of the Republic is offered in three versions: 1) a self-study version, 2) a public school version and 3) a private school and church version designed to support U.S. History instruction regarding America’s Founders and demonstrate the influence of the Judeo-Christian teaching on American Law and Ethics recommended by the Teaching and Learning Foundation*

For hundreds of years, American students have been taught history through the lens of personal liberty, religious freedom, and economic opportunity. Historians wrote that America’s founders and Framers of the Constitution were deeply moral men who believed that our liberties were a gift from God and not from men. Judeo-Christian thinking profoundly influenced American Law through our founders and framers of the Constitution.

The Pulitzer Prize winning author of 1776 and John Adams David McCullough has said that our children’s ignorance of American History is a threat to national security. He is right; ignorance of American history is eroding Americans of their liberty and protection under the Constitution.
Banning of school prayer, public displays of the Ten Commandments and teaching of the Founder’s belief system are a way toward replacing Man’s God given rights to rights allowed by government. If allowed to continue and grow, this new system without God as the ultimate authority, and of government as all powerful, threatens tyranny and the American free enterprise system with socialist redistribution, nationalism of industries, and a track toward fascism and communism.

Rock of the Republic provides a self-paced self-study version, or two versions meant to be used in a seminar or classroom environment with twelve 55 minute sessions that take students through the ideas of the early settlers, the faith-based writings and speeches of the Founding Fathers. It provides historic profiles and quotes of American Settlers, Founders, Framers of the Constitution , and great thinkers like de Tocqueville and Blackstone. Rock of the Republic contains little known quotes from the speeches and meetings of modern leaders like Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy well into the 20th Century who publicly prayed for America during times of crisis, and gave public thanks to God in America’s deliverance.

The author’s two year research effort using both well known texts and speeches, as well as books out of print for decades, prove without a doubt that America is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and whose Constitution is based upon Biblical morality. Rock of the Republic is a treasure trove of the thoughts and beliefs of those who founded America, wrote her laws and led her during time of crisis.

Here are a few of the hundreds of examples in Rock of the Republic: “Our Constitution was made for only a moral and religious people, it is inadequate to the government of any others.” John Adams

“I have lived sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?” Benjamin Franklin Constitutional Convention of 1787.

“We are all Christian soldiers now.” Franklin Roosevelt to Winston Churchill aboard HMS Prince of Wale

Book Reviews:

‘Rock of the Republic’ provides a history lesson that needs to be taught and learned. Our children need to know that America is an exceptional place, and ‘Rock of the Republic’ explains why and how we got there.”

from Human Events Review 11/8/10:
“…Rock of the Republic, by William M. Korach, is in its own way a manuscript, or rather a condensed review of our relatively short history as a country . . . the United States of America.

Many, if not all of the chapters in this fine book, give a brief history of a specific individual, and a period of conflict, for whom and which has changed our country’s course. Leaving out no reference to religion, Rock of The Republic goes back to our Christian roots, and ultimately leaves us more educated to those roots than would any U.S. history class in an academic environment (which pretty much tells us the exact opposite in some cases about our religious founding).

The Mayflower Compact, also mentioned in the “manuscript”, is one of the first references made to when, how, and why such vast territories were chosen to be free, and to be practiced under the ways of God. Such an example referencing to the Mayflower Compact is displayed in Activity3.2. “In WITNESS, in the Reign of our sovereign Lord King James of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth and of Scotland, the fifty-fourth.” Even Blackstone, his commentaries on the law, and his role in shaping our laws are mentioned as well. This provides a great 101-type lesson for students looking to pursue a law degree, or to simply return from the summer with more insight so him or her can better impress their teacher.

American history, though, is not history if no reference has been made to the Magna Carta. The entire preamble, which would have to be expected as something to come standard in the manuscript, has 13 pages of dialogue, and not one word is expunged. It makes sense to say that nowadays, so many of our children’s’ and teen’s books have been edited to the point where it’s almost not a history book at all: it’s a different political opinion, rather a bias, being taught to whom we should ultimately teach conservative values . . . our children.

The point here is this: for students going into college who need to freshen up some of their American History literacy, this is the perfect book for doing such a thing…….You can read to “the point”, more importantly, without being dragged off course.

Rock of the Republic is a fine read overall, and I recommend it for anyone wanting a thorough review of something that’s actually American, written by an American without bias.”
