Preschool is a comprehensive preschool program for three and four year old children. Subject matter is based on proven techniques provided by the experts in early childhood education. The underlying philosophy is that children develop their physical, intellectual and social – emotional skills through play.

This comprehensive program provides teachers with the necessary information to understand the philosophy, techniques and lessons necessary for effectively teaching preschool children. The easy to follow format nearly ensures success in teaching. This curriculum is integrated with the 50 state standards in the United States.

Each teacher is given a wealth of easy to understand background information to feel knowledgeable and comfortable in working in a preschool environment. The major component of the program is the Curriculum Cards. These cards provide the teacher with 150 lessons. Each card contains a daily lesson plan about a specific, interesting theme. If the teacher determines to continue the lesson on additional days, she may continue to use many of the materials and add her own creativity by providing some additional activities.

Each of the themes provides developmentally appropriate, entertaining and enriching activities that make children want to learn. The learning center information and lessons are provided. The teacher simply reviews the curriculum card, reads the information, collects the materials and arranges them for the children. The cards take the laborious task of the researching and writing lesson plans from the teachers busy work schedule. Further, it ensures that the proper enrichment activities are given to each child. The theme curriculum cards are easy to use and simple to follow. Teachers may use the cards and follow the lesson while teaching the class. Everything is on the self-contained lesson plan. Nothing could be simpler!

Jean Potter, author of Pre-School, has been a kindergarten teacher and the Director of Early Childhood Education for the West Virginia State Department of Education. She was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as Deputy Assistant and Assistant Secretary of Education for the U.S. Department of Education. At the U.S. Department of Education, she was responsible for the overall management of the elementary and secondary education programs at several colleges and universities. Jean is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding achievement in the field of education. She continues to write and consult in the early childhood education field.
