Physics Through Inquiry ignites student interest with hands-on activities and builds an understanding of physics through engaging lectures and more than 100 demonstrations that create concrete, real-world applications. Hughes is currently a Teacher Mentor as part of his responsibilities in the Urban Systemic Initiative in Duval County, Florida. He has developed materials specifically for the new or out-of-field instructor. An easy-to-use pacing guide reduces teacher prep time and ensures that all applicable national and/or state standards are covered. The daily lesson plan is a step-by-step guide to each day’s instruction, including content background and specific teaching strategies to make each day’s instruction a success. Daily class notes are available in PowerPoint form, ready the first day of class. Assessments include traditional quizzes and exams as well as culminating performance assessments. These course materials can be used with any Physics textbook; a complete lab materials list utilizes commonly available tools and materials.
