Most students (and teachers 🙂 will welcome a purposeful activity by this time in the year. Sharks are usually of high interest, and the internal anatomy looks very different in the actual specimen than it does on a diagram. This dissection lab assesses techniques as well as the structure and function of each organ. I have included tips on how to manage a surgical-team approach to this lab and how to conduct a lab practical exam. The samples shown on the thumbnail are only some of the 25-30 structures to be identified.
