Students will continue their study of genetics with in-depth study of the classic (Mendelian) genetics which is basic concepts needed to complete basic genetics problems. They will continue their study with modern genetics, which includes types of inheritance that are not straight dominant or recessive. It is important to understand that classic genetic titles and modern genetic titles are made to show the difference between concepts that were determined a long time ago and concepts that have been added with our increased understanding of genetics.
Topics include Mendelian Genetics, How to do a Punnett Squares for Monohybrids, Incomplete Dominance, Sex-linked Problems and Multiple Alleles, Meiosis, Karyotype Lab, Survey of Phenotypic Traits, Blood Typing, Incomplete Dominance, Multiple Alleles.
