Chapter 2 – Structure & Function of Cells (Total days: 18, pages: 213): Students will begin their study of the cell with an introduction to the types of cells that all organisms can be classified into. They will be introduced to the similarities and differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Then there is a further discussion of specific types of eukaryotic cells which include the plant cell and the animal cell. Once they learn different types of cells, students will learn the various parts that make up a general eukaryotic cell. The study of the parts of the cell will focus on two categories the organelles and the subcellular structures of the cell.
