Description
The Pelagic Zone serves as the backdrop for studying phytoplankton, zooplankton, whales, El Niño and ocean currents. Students will see the relationship between these divisions of marine life as beginning and ending food webs. Populations are dependent on each other and are major components of a healthy ocean. This is the longest unit in the course, but it is highly interactive with many opportunities for students to become engaged learners.
