$15.00$549.00

Elementary Music: Level 2 is a course that focuses on the teaching the fundamental elements of music in a way that is accessible for both the student and the teacher. This course has a special focus on exploring music within the context of all of the arts. The course begins by teaching students the basic steps of ballet, what a ballet dancer’s role includes, and careers within the ballet field. Students then apply this knowledge to the ballet Cinderella, by Sergei Prokofiev. During the second half of the course, a main focus is the relationship between art and music. The course will culminate in a performance that is largely student-directed, which will combine the students’ own compositions and writings with the songs included in the course, to create an interdisciplinary program about the relationship between art and music. The lessons in this course are aligned with state and national standards. The goal of this course is to foster the students’ awareness and appreciation of music and its role within the arts as a whole, and to provide resources for the teacher in doing so.
