Advanced (AP) Statistics: This course is designed for the student who has satisfactorily completed a second algebra course. Students will develop the techniques used by statisticians to analyze data using both graphical methods and numeric measures of shape and distribution of the data. Specific attention will be paid to random, binomial, normal and chi-square distributions. The student will also form a secure foundation upon which to build his/her understanding of statistical inference. Students will be able to calculate and utilize z-scores, t-scores, and chi-square scores and use those scores to test hypothesis and draw conclusions. Emphasis will be placed on the ability to translate the mathematical techniques into common language and to communicate the results of the statistical tests to end users who are not statistically trained. Technology such as computers and graphing calculators is an integral part of the course. Upon successful completion of the course students will be prepared to take the College Board Advanced Placement Statistics test.

The printed or eBook teacher’s edition includes syllabus, pacing guide, detailed daily lesson plans, editable class notes (in PowerPoint form), complete student activity book and editable assessments.
