Confronting Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco

$16.00$549.00

The information in this course is intended to provide broad understanding and knowledge of the realities of alcohol, drug, and tobacco use and abuse to students and athletes referred under your school’s substance abuse policy or referred by other legal authorities. It is the purpose of this class to serve as a brief intervention. We believe that such an intervention can be an effective way to change attitude, beliefs, and behaviors about drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, but is not intended as a form of rehabilitation. All information is intended to confront that belief that drug use is “no big deal” and to develop the basic discrepancy that surrounds most alcohol, drug, and or tobacco use. It is for general knowledge only to meet the purpose of this course and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment for abuse or addiction. You should seek prompt medical care for any specific health issue you may observe.

The dynamic material found in this book enhances lessons and curriculum, thus creating a more stimulating learning environment for students.

The Teacher Edition includes pacing guide, detailed daily lesson plans, assessments, class notes and student activities.

DVD: Included with the book is a DVD with editable assessments in MS Word document files, editable PowerPioint class notes, plus PDF files of the student activities, each of which can be printed for use in class. Movies cited must be rented separately from local or online sources.
