This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of playing the instruments of the string family, including the violin, viola, cello, and bass. Many elements of music are included, such as proper playing position, excellent tone production, correct intonation, reading standard music notation in various rhythms, learning different bowing styles, and performing alone or with an ensemble. Students will also study historical timelines, famous composers, conducting patterns, music from different cultures, and techniques on writing and analyzing music.
